    മാവേലിയെത്തും മുമ്പേ ഓണത്തെ കുറിച്ച് ഓര്‍മ്മിപ്പിക്കനൊന്നുമല്ല ഇങ്ങനെ ഒരു ടൈറ്റില്‍ കൊടുത്തത്. അതിനു മുമ്പെങ്കിലും പാവം പിള്ളേര്‍ക്ക് പാഠപുസ്തകം എത്തിക്കാന്‍ എന്തെങ്കിലും നടപടി എടുത്തിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ എന്ന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ച് കൊടുത്തു പോയതാണു.     ഓണം വന്നാലും പൂക്കാലം വരാന്‍ മടിച്ചു നിന്നാല്‍ എന്തു ചെയ്യും? ഓണം അതിന്റെ പാട്ടിനു പോവും; എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു പോലെയായി കാര്യങ്ങള്‍. ഇതിപ്പോ, തോന്ന്യാസം പോലെയായി അവസ്ഥ. മാവേലി എത്തുമ്പോഴേക്കെങ്കിലും അച്ചടി തീരുമോ ആവോ?  രാത്രി നടക്കുന്ന ഫുട്ബോള്‍ കളിയുടെയും ക്രിക്കറ്റു കളിയുടെയും വാര്‍ത്ത രാവിലെ പത്രത്തില്‍ വായിക്കാറുള്ളതാണു നമ്മള്‍. ടെക്നൊളജി ഇത്രയും പുരോഗമിച്ച കാലഘട്ടത്തിലും ഈ അവസ്ഥ തീര്‍ത്തും മോശമാണു.     പിന്നെ, ആരൊക്കെ എന്തൊക്കെ പറഞ്ഞാലും വിജയ ശതമാനത്തിന്റെ കാര്യം പറയുകയും വേണ്ടല്ലൊ!! പാഠപുസ്തകം പോലും വിതരണം ചെയ്യാതെ, ഒന്നു മനസ്സു വെച്ചാല്‍ എല്ലാവരേയും ജയിപ്പിക്കാനും പറ്റും.     പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മന്ത്രി, ഒരു വേദിയില്‍ താങ്കള്‍ വിളക്കു കൊളുത്താന്‍ മടിച്ചു. ഇന്നിപ്പോള്‍,...

    പ്രേമം സിനിമയുടെ വ്യാജന്‍ ഇറങ്ങിയതു വലിയ വിവാദം ആയിരിക്കുകയാണല്ലൊ? എത്രയൊക്കെ വലിയ സിനിമ ആരാധകനാണെന്നു പറഞ്ഞാലും ഇതു പ്രോല്‍സാഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു നമ്മള്‍ തന്നെയല്ലേ? സിനിമയെ ഇഷ്ടമാണെങ്കില്‍ ഇത്തരത്തിലുള്ള വ്യാജന്മാരെ നിരുല്‍സാഹപ്പെടുത്തേണ്ടതു നമ്മള്‍ തന്നെയാണു. അതിനു ഇനി പൊലിസു തന്നെ വരട്ടെ എന്നു വിചാരിക്കണമെന്നില്ല. ഒരു പുത്തന്‍ സിനിമയുടെ വ്യാജന്‍ കിട്ടിയാല്‍ വേണ്ട എന്നു പറയാനുള്ള ആര്‍ജ്ജവം നമുക്കു കൂടിയേ തീരൂ.     മോഷണം കുറ്റമാണെങ്കില്‍, മോഷണ വസ്തു ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതു അതിനെക്കാള്‍ വലിയ കുറ്റമാണെന്നു നമ്മള്‍ സൗകര്യപൂര്‍വ്വം മറക്കുന്നു. അല്ലെങ്ങിലും വ്യാജ സിദ്ദന്മാരുടെയും കള്ളക്കടത്തുകാരുടെയും നാട്ടില്‍ ഇതൊന്നും വലിയ കാര്യമല്ലല്ലൊ?     തിയറ്ററില്‍  ഇഷ്ട്ടപെടാത്ത സീന്‍ കൂവുകയും, ഫെയ്സ്ബുക്കില്‍ ചീത്ത വിളിക്കുകയും, അതൊരു അവകാശം പോലെ എറ്റെടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരു തലമുറയ്ക്ക്, അതിന്റെ സംറക്ഷകരാകാനുള്ള ഉത്തരവാദിത്തം കൂടി ഉണ്ട്. ഞാന്‍ മാത്രം ഇതു ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നാല്‍ കാര്യമില്ലല്ലൊ, എന്നാണു പതിവായി ഇത്തരം കാര്യങ്ങളില്‍ നമ്മുടെ സമൂഹം പറയുന്നത്. വ...

Another controversy has aroused after “Yoga” has been announced to be a compulsory part of education for Central Govt. schools. There is no doubt about the advantages of Yoga. It will provide you with better health and peaceful mind. One of the leaders of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) had said that all those persons who do not want to practice Yoga should go to Pakistan! We can see a lot of statements like this now a days.  If Yoga is against the beliefs of any region, that matter should be taken care of, before declaring it as ‘a compulsory’ part of syllabus. Going to Pakistan is not the solution.  Yoga is for making a peaceful mind. If some of them think that any part of yoga, is against their beliefs we cannot expect them to learn it with peaceful mind. Are the actors in advertisements required to ensure the quality of the products or services they are promoting? This question has gained importance after the ‘maggi incidence’. Amitabh Bachan and Madhuri Dixit are accused for promoting the product which is later on proved to be poisoned. Most of them opined that how the actors can ensure the quality of products? They are not supposed to ensure the quality rather; they are the people who are there to promote the product. What do you mean by ‘Promotion’? In fact, it is an inducement by some persons of social acceptance upon common people to buy or use some products or services.  Because of the social acceptance, they are in a position to influence the decisions of common people. They will get huge amounts for creating such mass attraction to the product. There ends the commitment. Most of us are depending on jobs to earn for a good living. Some of us may be working in the job sector in which we are interested. But some others may have to work in a sector which does not satisfy their likes. But I think there are a lot of workers who are working under difficult circumstances which we can’t even imagine. Because, such work may be dangerous or low paid / no paid or under very difficult circumstances. I have seen several times that a man was standing in front of a hotel by holding a board written “Meals Ready”. It was a sort of advertising used by the hotel management to grab attention of people. That man stands there for hours. One of my friend said that how can that person stand like that for hours every day. What would have been his salary?
